First, grandfather Nikolaos, a man of nature, fell in love with bees and started his first apiaries on the mountain of his heart, Helmos. He passed on the same love to his son Giorgos, founder of "HELMOS BEEKEEPING" in Ano Lousou, Kalavryton. Today his four children united by the unbreakable bonds of a hive, with love and know-how, continue the tradition and produce 15 different varieties of honey such as: Thyme, Elatis, Elatis Vanilla, Pine, Oak, Chestnut, Eucalyptus, Carob, Pine, and Organic honey.
1500 species of plants cover the slopes of Mount Helmos in the northern Peloponnese. Plane trees, black pine, oaks, willows, maples, poplars and many others, while in total 14 types of ecosystems with rare endemic plants have been recorded. It is a botanical paradise that perfectly favors the activity of beekeeping.
